A thought..... relationship related..... how did you pick your wedding date?

Our dating annivesary is September 4th and it usually falls over the Labor Day weekend.  When we got engaged, I knew that it was going to be a big wedding (huge family), so we polled them to see if they would mind/object to us holding it over that weekend.  They loved the idea, so I planned activities from that Thursday, through Monday.  (Wedding was on Saturday).

I've been married twice and both marriages were during the Thanksgiving holiday. The family is already in town and it's also easy to remember.

My next marriage is going to be June 28...my parents wedding anniversary.

Well I am not married and I have never been married and I am not even close so take my opinion for what it is worth.....

I feel that when I get to that point with someone it will all depend on when he gets on bended knee and proposes to me. (Do men still do that?) I don't believe in long drawn out engagements. In my 20's maybe but now that I am in my 30's we both should know what we want and who we are as people. So lets say he proposed in January, I would probably want to be married by late September or early October. Another factor I would consider is my daughter and when is the best time to make that transition for her.  I personally do not want a big wedding. I want something small and intimate. So there will probably not be a whole lot of details to tend to. (By the way that is another factor in picking a date, can your finances support the kind of wedding your hoping to have)

Hope my single girl answer helps...

I love big weddings!  The bride in white, the flowers, the cake and the honeymoon! Come on Mack, you mean to tell me you really want to miss out on that?

LOL!  Big weddings = big BILLS to pay for them mugs!!!!

I don't have a big family - so there's not enough folk to invite to make it a big wedding.  Besides - after a certain age - that shiot is overrated......

I would rather do the Vegas walk up and spend some $$ partying.

Yeah, I guess you're right. But there are creative ways to save money on your big day....I'm jes saying.

Why are you acting like you are old? Mack, you are still in the Spring of your life and young as heck.

I'm older than you and I want another (hells yeah I said it..lol) wedding. But it will be small and on the beach with some very close family members and friends.

And did I miss something? Is this your way of throwing hints that you're about to do a Color Purple and tell us "Isa married now"?
