the stomach virus for a 10 yr old?  My daughter has been sick for 3 days now vomiting and not being able to keep anything down. We took her to the ER and they gave her antibody but it does not seem to work.  She hasn't eaten all day today so we just gave her chicken broth, ginger ale and toast and she threw most of that up.

My mom said for us to try honey, cinnamon and water and give that to her..  any other ideas?  Thanks.

Happy Holidays to all1

i know a lot of times they say pedialyte and stuff like that, but with my son (3 yrs) the liquids never stay down.  When i start him on food, i start withcrackers, but three days with no food is too much.  I would go back to the doctor.  You may need an IV started for her.

i always use ginger tea for anything that is going with nausea and vomiting . just add a little sugar and it should help her. i hope this works and makes her feel better.

Three days is a long time to have a stomach virus. IMO I would take her back to the doctor.  I wouldn't  worry so much about food intake but fluids she may actually be dehydrated at this point which may be why she is still vomiting.  She would require IV fluids if that's the case.  Hope she gets better soon my kids had it too but thankfully theirs was only a 24 hr bug.  God Bless!

If its been 3 days and she's not keeping liquids down I'd be getting back to the Dr. Its a good chance she's dehydrated.  Pedialyte makes popsicles. You can try those.  But a visit to the dr might be best. She might need IV fluids to get rehydrated and they can give her an anti nausea med thru the IV.  If you want to hold off on another ER visit at least call her Dr and get a prescription for a suppository form of the anti nausea med called into your pharmacy.

Good luck and hope baby girl is feeeling better soon.

Emergency rooms don't really offer much except a huge bill and temporary relief. That's why they usually tell people to follow-up with their PCP. What you should check for is probably dehydration. Is she really thirsty? Does she have a dry mouth, are her lips really chapped? Also, has her urine decreased? Is she dizzy or lightheaded. If so, she could probably be dehydrated.  My son has bouts of vomitting as I do because we have stomachs that have a low tolerance at times. It very well may be something that will correct itself. Follow-up with her PCP and then go from there.

Be Blessed,

Emetrol works great to control the vomiting.  My son was constantly vomiting and once I started to give that to him he stopped and was able to start eating again.
You may want to take her back to the Dr if she is not responding to the antibiotics.  She should be feeling better after 3 days.

This is a nasty and I feel for your little girl.  I hope she gets better soon!
