CIGNA - Insurance

i'm looking for anyoe that had CIGNA Insurance. I need to ask a few questions regarding the appeal process.

I went through Cigna - had to appeal all the way to third party arbitrator..... what you wanna know?

Thanks for coming so quick. I had to do an appeal, I wanted to know how long it will take before they send a response.  BTW what is a third party arbitrator, how did you get one. Where do they come from? Crazy question?

No problem lady!  I actually HATE Cigna with a passion, so anybody I can help I will!!!

The appeal has a set time limit, I recall 15 days, you can always check with them for the guidelines, as they MAY vary depending on your particular rider with your employer.  

Third party arbitrators come from the lawsuit avoidance fairy..... LOL!!  Just kidding.  Part of Cigna's process has a certain # of in-house appeals you can pursue with them before a last final step of a in-house judge type thing they do OR a third party arbitrator.  Now - if the mofos been denying you up to that point, why would ANYONE do the in house judge thingee?  Ionknow..  LOL  The third party is REALLY third party, you have to chose the group to go with for the decision but they review your case and make a decision that Cigna agrees to be held to.  

In my case, the third party folk BLASTED Cigna for being ignant azzes for denying me!  I still have that repsonse letter - it was CLASSIC!!!!

You look amazing!  I read your profile and I will pray for you. Will you pray that CIGNA doesn't send me into drinking hard liquor. LOL I had one glitch with the psychiatrists letter, I hope that all. But you never know. We faxed the letter back last Friday, waiting to hear update.

Hey Candy - thanks so much for the compliment and your prayers!  Cigna always does stupid schiott with its insured...yep, jumping through hoops is one of them - praying that everything works out for you!

BTW...I live 5 minutes from Little Company of Mary...(Dr. Cahill's staff is excellent when it comes to dealing with insurance, etc. - you're in great hands!)

I thank you for all of your help. i live in Morgan Park/Beverly, so I'm very close to LCOM. I researched tons of Doctors and came up with Cahill.  I hope to see you somewhere at a meeting - just to stay in touch. I want this to work for me.  I know I can't do it, without the lessons of those who came before me.

I have cigna...first attempt denied second approved in a few days. I think with Cigna they want a lot of hard copy stuff...feel free to hit me up if you have any questions
