These are my brothers  4 kids.. My brother was in the Air Force..Stationed overseas.. His wife was home in Colorado.. Supposed to be raising the kids.. He sent her monthly allotment checks to take care of home.. The oldest child Marvin was 7, when he left.. then Eddie, Dineen, and Tony.. The mother deserted the kids, only came home to get her allotment check..Tony don't remember her, she left  them when he was a baby.... Marvin and Eddie was left to raise the 2 youngest.. They stole food for them to eat from stores and garbage cans.. They were trying to keep the family together..The phone was cut off so my brother had no way of reaching them..  The neighbors finally turned them over to protective services.. They all were in the hospital for months they were suffering from malnutrition.. and abuse from the mothers live-in boyfriend... Marvin fought to keep them together until their father could get home..  They went from foster home to foster home...My brother finally came home..and it took thousands of dollars to get his children back.. They love their dad like I have never seen a child love their daddy...  Marvin has done well he works for the government.. Very high paying position, married and has 2 children.. Eddie has not done well he came to Mich. once  and  he's strung out on drugs... Dineen  was murdered here at age 18..  the last person to see her alive was her Jehovan witness preacher...She was searching for somewhere to belong.  He took  her to a baby shower and brought her home and she was murdered that night..Tony was having a hard time in relationships, he would break off the relationship, before the woman would have a chance to break it off.  After he was on Dr. Phil.. he's grown in to a man, like no other.. My brother was really pissed at him for going on Dr. Phil, because he thought he should have came to him.. Tony has excelled beyond belief... He works for the Government also, he got married shortly after the Dr. Phil show and has been able to rise above anything else that he has  endured in his life..  I love watching them around my brother, because they just stare at him and smile, always hugging on their daddy..They should be around 44 or 45...I promise them that I will never get so caught up in life that I can't take some time to call them.  Just wanted to share.

Wow Joyce they surely had challenges early on, but I am glad that Tony was able to overcome them. I pray that Eddie can also find his way. I am sorry about Dineen, but the consolation is that she had professed faith before she died. Hats off to your brother.

My mother told my brother when he brought her home to meet us...That something was wrong with her, as to the way she treated Marvin when he was a baby she refused to change his diapers..and would make faces at him.... At the funeral for my niece it was something came over me..I look around the church and there is not one man in there other than the preacher..He came running up to me.. thinking I was Dineen's mother.. I shrugged him.. Normally the last one to see them alive is the one that killed them.. Channel 2 News did stories on her for a few years.. My brother has a reward out for whomever it was that killed her.. She died a really violent death..Her body was stabbed so bad. Her little hands were sliced up so bad.. The autopsy guy told my brother she put up a fight.. No forced entry so she had to know who did this to her..
