If so, how do you face your fears?! I am severely claustrophic. Last night, while swimming, Phil said, "Dee, you can go faster if you put your face in the water while you free-stroking." I just looked at him and rolled my dayum eyes....15 YEARS Homey, you know I am claustrophobic....can swim underwater, but won't!!!!  Did it for .05 seconds last night b4 I could not breath (all in my mind).....same thing with flying....LAWD...we are taking a trip for our anniversary in Feb....he wants to FLY....the flight is longer than an hour with no layover....so we battling....I cannot fly for over an hour.....I'm CLAUSTROPHOBIC.....I need to be able to get up and walk outside ~yes, I stop when driving home~ or I feel shut in and will have a panic attack!

Same with sleeping at night.....I want the bathroom door, and closet door CLOSED....but I leave my door open or closed and locked with my window cracked!!

Dedee don't do cover over her face....pillows over her face and I double dogg dare you to try and pin me down!

I have to overcome this b/c I really want this trip and he refuses to drive b/c of the weather! ~sigh~

Do these work...or make it worse...

I hope you can find something to help you overcome that....otherwise, I will just have to go on the trip with Phil.....LOL   (just kidding)

BTW - I talked to Trish and she did finally go home for a minute and saw your email.  She said to tell you....I love you!

and...

I also talked to Renee (Detroit) and she also sends her love and thanks you for thinking/remembering her.

now you know the best way to overcome it is to just do it right? so why not start with this trip...how much over an hour is it? i think thats a good place to start cause you wont be alone....

ETA: yes i am claustrophobic but not as bad as i used to be..i still can't stand for someone to try and hold me down...that can really cause serious issues..lol

I dont like the covers all the way over my head either.
The only other time  that I get claustrophbic is when I have to get those MRI scans done OMG.....I have to keep my eyes closed the whole entire time I am in there.....if i open my eyes i start to feel panicky

Taye...imagine having a hearing impairment and migraines....so, they can't do an open MRI nor MRA on me....I jumped out the dayum machine....hollering and crying....in a panic state.....the last time, they presribed me a sedative....headed out to ENT now....know Imma have to have an MRI...so, he better go ahed and prescribe my sedative before I go to proscan imaging....Dedee don't do CAT SCANS ~roll eyes~

Dedee:

I had a terrible fear of bridges and about 4 years ago, I did a 3 day 60 mile walk for breast cancer and we had to walk over 3 bridges.  The first one, I couldn't do it.  Started hyperventalating and everything.  Feeling like I was about to die.  But on the second day, one of the young ladies held my hand as we walked over the bridge and we talked the entire way with 4 other woman as my coach.  It was so freeing.  I no long have a fear of bridges.  The last one was a breeze.

Many blessing on getting over this fear.
