Thorough Thursday - All About taw1975

You have your head on straight that's for sure.. Now I have dated one white man years ago...but, dayum Taw you have never dated one.  I saw this white lady the other day at the grocery store with a black child, not mixed, and I really wanted to say something to her, because.. I didn't like what I saw.. The little girl kept saying Mommy, and she was like ignoring her...never responded to the child.. Not even looked at her.. I stayed in that aisle as long as she did hoping she would acknowledge the child...I went to the next aisle just to see if she ever would say something to the child.   The child had dried up snot all over her face.... I believe she may have adopted the child or something.. You have know idea how bad I wanted to get a paper towel and wet it to clean up the childs face. The child's hair was pitiful, looked like it hadn't been combed this year.. The little girl looked to be about 2.. The mother knew I was uncomfortable with her... Because I let it be known without ever saying a word.. My eyes spoke volume..That child looked pitiful... 

I hope im not takin offense to anything.  Although im mixed i was adopted by white people and though my mother and I are rarely on good terms she was a very attentive to my appearance way more than me emotionally.  I hope you arent saying that bc a child is black with white parents they cant take care of them.  Like i said i am a little confused and you know i love you miss Joyce i think this post has just caught me off guard a bit???

I'm not saying anything in reference to you and your parents.. I'm not saying any parent black or white.. I don't care about the race of eiether parent or child..When I see a child that is looking like that little girl was, I have to wonder why in the hell did she adopt her..only to let her be starving for attention and she don't even acknowledge her and having her walk around with snot on her face and she was very unkept.. I don't care if it had been a black woman with a white child I would still question her intentions if I had seen the white child looking like the little black girl did... The lady  should have  known  that it was wrong to have the little girl looking like that... I just shook my head on this one... Still tugging at me... What could I have done to make a difference.....I did talk to the little girl, and she just smiled... You know dayum well you my gurl..Don't ever think this was directed at you or anyone else on the board...This was strictly my observance of the situation.. 

I was just tryin to get more of the story i guess

I can only say you don't know what happened prior to your interaction--I ignore my child at that age when he was acting crazy.  It got the point across much better than whooping his butt every 2 minutes.

That being said nothing worse than a snotty-nosed, dirty-faced kid so I'm not sure why she was letting her walk around like that.

I have mixed feelings on white people being allowed to adopt solely black children but ultimately I would rather have a child be loved by someone than in the system forever loved by no one.

That little girl was quiet as can be other than saying Mommy, she wasn't saying anything.....It's still tugging at my heart, because I could tell just by watching them that woman really wanted nothing to do with that child.... She wouldn't hardly look at her.. That really kind of pissed me off, because she could have said something to the child or just hugged her, but to totally ignore the child was wrong.. It was 17 degrees here that day and she had the little girl with a little windbreaker on.... I don't know how they ended up together but I just didn't like what I saw..  Really..

When telemarketers or business folk call your house do they ask to speak to your mother?

What do you go to first when you pull up BAF......your friends' posts or xes posts?

I was gonna ask you about your could get it list but I can't stop laughing long enough to get it out.

I always wonder if the band people get a lil envious of the RNY or other folk that drop the weight fast. Did you ever go through that?

Definately--still do.  Called someone a beyotch just the other day because she's lost 50% of her weight in less than 2 months.
