My One Year Journey & 168#'s Smaller

Well, today is my one year birthday. Wow, a year that fast. In this year I have learned that no matter how much I try to understand why I am quick to gain weight, I would never fully understand how my genetics will keep me fighting this battle of obesity until I journey out of this world. Some people are just programmed by nature to store more fat than others, maybe it's a survival thing. Well, 168lbs later and I am still fighting the good fight. I have learned a couple of things on the journey from Big & Tall to Nice & Small.

1. Every person lose or gain fat differently.
2. Fighting cravings will cause you to binge more until you overeat or in better words, go into a calorie surplus.
3. It is definitely about calories in to calories out!
4. The kryptonite to fat is weight training (This works for me).
5. Eat the foods you love, but know when to stop and manage your intake.

These things echo in my head every morning when I wake up and stare at myself. Was the surgery a good thing for me? Absolutely!

I can now say I UNDERSTAND the long road many Post Ops walk after WLS. It is a battle everyday, and everyday you must give it your best effort. Some days you will lose, some days you will win, just don't give up.

LOVE & HUGS
James

Thank you all so much! I had to take some time off for awhile (Whip of the wife and the evil stares). I sneak on every now and then but all last year was (FACE TO LAPTOP) all about the computer and I sorta forgot about being a Dad (Darn internet.. this is stuff is like crack!). LOL.

James Congrats to you u've done great!!!

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely who others think you are!
