Your Best Tips For New Post-Ops
We have a lot of new post-ops and quite a few others that will be having surgery soon, so let's give them some tips that helped us the most.
-Gas-X Strips that melt on your tongue
-Liquid Vitamins the first 6 wks helped me because I had some complications
-10 oz. bottled water seemed more manageable to me (it was a mind thing but kept me hydrated)
-Only Use 1/2 packet of Crystal Lite or Walmart Brand because it's too sweet at first
-Drink only the broth of soup with noodles, it tastes better than plain broth and add unflavored
protein powder to it
-Mix Protein bullets with cold water to cut the sweet flavor or mix it with sf jello and have protein jello
-Walk once every hour if possible
-Use a big body pillow to get comfortable in bed
Okay, I'll shut up and let others share.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/biggrin.gif)

-I forget who told me about the pillow, but it's nice to have a pillow to hold against your stomach for the rid home
-Have chapstick or balm in the hospital
-Heartburn is common newly post-op, my prescription for Protonix was way cheaper than the Prilosec OTC. Pepcid AC twice a day did nothing for me, but I was trying to be cheap
-Tread lightly with sugar free stuff at first. Try one new thing per day so you can pinpoint what doesn't sit right

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
