I have to disagree with that, D.A. 
There are plenty of ppl who can be ghetto as hell in their environment then flip the switch in a professional situation.  She young lady just probably hasn't learned how to prior to now.  Some ppl need to be taught how to navigate what W.E.B Du Bois called a "double consciousness"

I agree with you D, it's not always the case of stupidity. Sometimes (believe it or not) some poeple just don't know...

Perhaps you're right, my wise and scholarly brotha.  But, I've been burned too many times, man, so much until I just don't have that teaching spirit anymore for these  "new-jacks" that have come in and are trying to mess up the game.  To me they just don't get it.

Suggestion:
Disguise the conversation. You can very well say EXACTLY what you want to say WITHOUT saying it and keep your rep intact SIMULTANEOUSLY. You can give her the same talk you were given--it's up to her (at a later date) to discern whether it was for her ears or not & to know (again, at a later date) exactly what you were attempting to do.

Play into her strong points.
(stop it! YES SHE DOES)
She already mentioned her aspirations  of wanting to grow within the company--ask her what she thinks she needs to accomplish to make that a reality. WITHOUT POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS)-make it like a homework assignment. This entire conversation shouldn't (and actually can't) happen on one occasion. You can build a rapport with her in the time it will/should take.
You should be commended for even CONTEMPLATING whether you should say something or not. Some people, no matter their color, wouldn't say a word. Which, of course, is their choice/right. I think you're questioning whether you should BECAUSE YOU WANT TO. Think it over.
Even if you decide AGAINST it, It''s still in your right to do so. Good luck.
