When I think of pro-black I always think of my parents. Been to Africa 5xs, were in the BPP back in the day, volunteered in all sorts of community orgs when we lived in Philly. If I heard one more story about the MOVE I would die lol. Anyway, they were extra proud to be black and loved helping and bringing up and educating other black people.

I am pro-abortion and pro-choice. Well I guess I'm a lil hypocritical. I'm not for abortion as a method of birth control. But I am for it to help women who find themslves in other bad positions. But in the end I would never want someone to be told what they can't and can do with thier future.

I agree with everyone else's definition of pro-black.  I was raised to be proud of my heritage, but to also know that God created all races and so there isn't one that is better than any other.

I am pro-choice.  I don't think that abortion would be the right option for me, but it should be an option for other women.

As for the addendum....I think that the father should have a choice, but the woman should have the final decision since she is the one that would, or wouldn't have to carry the baby.

So if the woman has the final say so... Wouldn't that eliminate the Mans choice??

Tyree,
Even though we, as the dad/father/sperm doner/ whatever may have a say or opinion, ultimately, I think, it is the woman's choice whether she wants to go thru with the pregnacy or not.

If there can't be an agreement reached, than yes that would eliminate the man's choice.

PRO-BLACK?  Hmmm...  I think it means something different today than it did 20-30 years ago.  I'm not sure what it was then either but it just doesn't sound like it's the same thing.

PRO-CHOICE?  Hmmm...again.    I don't think, as a man, I can really call what a woman should do to her body, even if it is my child she's carrying.   I can have a desire or an opinion, but I really can't call what she eventually does.

Truth be told, you or I can believe in whatever we want to but since the ultimate decision on whether or not carry a baby to term is on the woman, Brotha, we can't do anything except wait for her to make up her mind.  The only thing that we can control is the decision to mess around with her in the first place; and to a much lesser degree, whether or not marry her.

I think the definition of Pro Black has changed.  The more PC term that people seem to like is having an interest in the African Diaspora.

I'm Pro choice... It's a woman's right to do what she wants with her own body.  If she wants to have the baby fine or if she doesn't that fine too but hopefully a lot of thought will be put into both.  I really hope most of the thought is put into it before she lays down in the first place.

I agree the man's choice pretty much ends when he makes the decision to lay down with a woman unprotected.  You can only control yourself... no one else.  So if that woman says she can't get pregnant or is on the pill... you still need to protect yourself.  Same thing for women... if that man tells you he's sterile... protect yourself.  That one sperm left in his body just might have your name on it.
