Hey Family,

This board is so much different than the main board.  The main board scares me with horror stories and complications but y'all seem to have it under control or you just don't speak on the bad stuff.  But I would like to know from the people that have had surgery did you have any complications, uncontrollable diarrhea, excessive vomiting, bowel obstructions whatever I would like to her about your experiences and would like to know if you could do it all over again would you.  I have type 2 diabetes I weigh 350 and am 5'7 my bones hurt all the time and I'm just tired of being fat.  I want a better and healthier life but I wonder if I am trading one miserable life for another.  I need to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Please share your experiences and any advice that you can offer.

Much Love

Hi There, I was on insulin for 12 years have not been on it since surgery 1 1/2 years ago. 236lb 5'3'' fibromyalgia, thyroid, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight back and knees gave me a lot of trouble,.  No more insulin still take some meds for the diabetes because of the tea I'm drinking only 1/2 of what I usually drink hoping I'll get off more meds before Christmas. I'm still drinking some tea I can't get all the water in after all this time. Blood pressure and cholesterol down lowering both of these meds.  I've had problem twice with sweet and I mean a very little sweets.  Took it 2x to get the ideas that I can't have sweets. I was nauseated and sweating and was out like a light I woke it like something had hit me. I didn't have problem with surgery no pain think I have a high pain tolerate. If you ask them on this board they will let you know.I feel great I can play with the Grandbabies and enjoy them ,when I never could do all that with my kids. I watch my HB take the girls to Games, basketball, football and my weight had me miserable. follow my Dr. MANUAL TO THE LETTER NW AND HAVE GOTTEN IT
COPY TO REREAD IT AGAIN.

Hi Neighbor!

Welcome to BAF.  I don't know how long you have been around, but we do have horror stories too.  We discuss the good and the bad.  Fortuneatly the good outweighs the bad.  LOL

I had no complications at the time of my surgery, but I did develop an ulcer about a month after my surgery.

I went and had that treated and all is well now.  I would definetly have this surgery again!  As a matter of fact, I wish I had been able to have it earlier in life.  I'm almost 2 years out, having had surgery at the age of 43.

My advice is to research, research, research.  Don't base your decision on others' experiences because all of our WL journeys are different.

My best to you on your journey!
