Had to get yall in here...lol Began to wear Make up? My daughter 14 in the 9th grade asked me if she could wear mascara a couple of weeks ago (I said NO)  and then yesterday she asked if she could put a little purple..lol over top of her eyes when she goes to the movies this weekend with her friends. I was never the girlie type(always a lady don't get me wrong ) just never wore make up still don't but my daughter is very girlie . Lip gloss city she will spend $18 on some. Most of my friends said I'm being to hard and that they started in high school but to me I think 11th grade it the perfect age . Am I being to hard?

I was about her age when I started wearing eye shadow and lip gloss.  I didn't start using mascara and foundation until I was grown.

ETA: I'd let her wear a little bit, but monitor to make sure it's age appropriate and not overly done.

I was thinking that If did monitor  It would avoid her sneaking and wearing to much . I was thinking about giving her a soft kit for Christmas. Just don't want to give up my little girl

Pink people are a little more lax on this subject I've found but I could wear lipgloss (no color) and mascara in 8th grade.

9th grade added a bit of eyeshadow and full makeup starting in 11th.

I was a grown lil hussie...so I was like 11 or 12 when I started with makeup...lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara...the whole nine.

But ask me what I wear today at 38....NUFFIN except when I go out and it's only lipstick and a lil eyeshadow!!

Only look back in life to know where you DON'T want to go

Hey

I think 9th grade is old enough.  I can remember playing with makeup in elementary school.  I don't think I wore it to school though.  I hope not, anyway.  But by 9th grade, I was wearing eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lip gloss.  I think you should let her wear it like she said, when she goes to the movies.  Maybe not to school everyday, but on the weekends.

Hey lady!! I think 9th grad is ok in moderation....the good thing to remember is that she ASKED u and did'nt just do it behind your back.
