Greetings BAF,
I hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits.  Some of the post have been pretty live today.  Sorry this is not going to one of them.  I was just wondering what everyones opion on the 5 day pouch test was.  I have been thinking about trying it.  Just wanted to hear what the fam had to say about it.  Have you done it?  Did it work?  Thanks ya'll!

I have done this and had very good results.  The goal is not to loose weight....it is suposed to get your pouch feeling like it did when you first had surgery.  I did this after I was over a year out and it really made me feel like I had an improved pouch.  I did loose about 6 or 7 lbs too.

You are almost 7 months out and still pretty new.  You are at that stall/plateau point in your journey (I'm guessing).  Just continue to follow your Dr's/Nut rules and get the exercise in and the weight will keep coming off.

Not to say you shouldn't follow the test...if you feel you need too, go for it....it does work.

My best to you on your journey!

I did it a couple of weeks ago.  Lost 7lbs.  Check out my profile.  I blogged everyday I was on the test.  GOOD luck!

You will loose weight, you will eat again and you will gain that weight back.  That is how crazy stuff like that works.  You should workout and eat a healthy balanced meal.    Something I haven't been able to do.

I had to edit to say that you are not even 7 months out so you most definately should NOT be trying this pouch test.  You will begin loosing again.  Make sure you get your water and workout on.

YW, For me Roxy it has helped me to refocus my efforts.  Before I did the pouch test I wasn't focused AT ALL.  I slipped up and gained i think 6lbs.  Thinking that while I was in the honeymoon period I couldn't gain.  I WAS WRONG.  Since I've done the pouch test, I've refocused my efforts and have even been working out so much more. The weight has again been coming off and with my workout efforts I see my body slowly changing.  I am happy to have done it as it got me back focused on what I need to be doing.  That and the fact that I don't want to see a 6lbs gain NO TIME SOON.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!

As you know by now, you will be able to eat more with time. But I listen to my pouch. For me, She cannot be too much bigger cause my food intake remains limited. Now, I can  nibble all daym day and I have to watch that as well. You can nibble on something healthy or nibble on junk, ya know.

Pay attention to your pouch. Today, when I am full, she tells me and I still stop. I "trained" myself to do this from the start. I dont get angry anymore when I cant eat the amount I want. I know my limits. I know which foods do not set well with me. I know when I have had enough.  When I need to lose a few lbs....when I get between over 146...I get nervous, I stop eating later in the evening. I

Having dinner...or supper as we say in NC... before 6 p.m. and filling up on flavorful drinks like hot tea or coffee will satisfy my hunger. This evening, I was hungry, and I had half a cup of chicken noodle soup. It satisfied my h unger and I am done.

Take it slow. The same way you pushed away in the early stages with the pouch, do it no. Especially if you are like me and dont enjoy exercise. I DO IT. I dont like it. I will not be wearing out a pair of Nikes or running in marathons like some of the BAF chicas. WHooo Hooo for them!

I am not cut from that cloth! And I know this so I have to set greater limits for myself.

Wish you well.

N.
