Anyone going to the Inaguration?

Nah. I would like to but you KNOW that will be pure insanity. Lucky a very good friend lives there and is going and has been put on souvenir duty!!!

That's nice...  Can I slip in a few requests????  LOL

I will be there front & center!  I put my leave slip in on Nov 5th for inaguration day and the day after.  I went to Clinton's first inaguration but this is going to be sooooooo special.  I know D.C. is going to be over flowing with folks but I have to go I'm so close & this is such a historic event.  the only thing is, it is going to be so COLD.  I tryed to get a hotel room the day after the election NO CIGAR. 

What reason did the hotel give for cancelling your reservation I doubt very seriously that they can do that.  There is no reason to pay for a hotel room in advance you only have to reserve it with a credit card.  Sound illegal to me.  They probably tripled the price of the room.  If you still want the room I would go to management & the better business bureau.

 

They said that a company (I forgot the name) will already be staying there and have decided to extend their stay, etc..  Yes, it did sound fishy to me, I still have the contact information for the hotel and the person who conctacted me, she actually called my cell phone.. 

Anyway, I didn't sweat it because she called herself trying to find me another hotel room, the closest she could get was in PA.  I was like forget it....

No big deal.  I will have me some food/snacks and sit infront of the TV....  LOL

Did you book through a 3rd party vendor like Hotwire or something? Because if you booked directly through a hotel and reserved it with your credit card that is called a guaranteed reservation and the hotel MUSt honor what ever price you booked it for that night, unless it was booked at an associate rate or something like that. (Ex hotel Industry Guru here)...lol....

I am so sorry that your room was canceled, I hear they are getting TOP DOLLAR for hotel rooms here it the DC area, and people are renting out their homes for as much as $1100-$2000 per week, WOW! My family and friends here in ATL are stalking me right now to come stay with me during the Inauguration....I wonder if I should charge them...

How are you doing sweetie?  Are you trying to get some rest? I am so sorry to hear about your brother....  Let me know if there is something I can do..... 

On another note, maybe you can be on souvenier duty!!!  I would love something with Obama on it from the inaguration....
