Hair advice needed

Hi all

New to this board, but I need some advice.  I am going to have a vsg done early in 2009, and I have read that hair loss can be an issue with wls.

My question is, I currently have a boy cut, in anticipation of the new me was planning to grow it and texturize it, but I am afraid that if I grow it any hair loss would be really obvious, but would it be more obvious if I kept it short 

Any suggestions advice - longer or shorter hair

i can tell you how it will go - some folk have no changes in their hair - my thinned out a lot. 

I wear braids - so I rock different kinds of hair each time I get it done depending on my mood.  I love a good pack of hair!!!  LMAO
