I'm in that clique. My mom sends me books and brochures all the time. I haven't been to the hall since last year.My mother has always subscribed to the notion that she took us so far the rest is up to us (6 kids). I do believe in the teachings still, even though I know that I'm doing wrong. My mom is so selfless. She lost her job last year and still gives to others. If she calls me one more time asking for money for someone else I will scream. I love her for it though. Not too many people walking around nowadays with natural affection for others.

Were you baptized? I can see the elders saying no to her coming to those events if you were disfellowshipped.

Hey Sharee!!

Thanks for chiming in!! I was baptized but not disfellowshipped and I had my daughter at 23 I left there at 18.  What's funny is I threaten her and told her that if she did not come to Mekhi's shower I would never talk to her again or let her she MY kids and suddenly the tune changed and "supposedly" she consulted with them and they told her "oh that's your child why would you not go it's not like it's a birthday party of course you could go" Now come on I was not born yesterday...that's the schitt I am talking about twisting the "Truth" to benefit yourself...which is so not right!! I don't agree with disfellowshippuing since you brought it up how u gonna not talk to someone casue they made a mistake...that is totally CRAZY!!

That's why I'm not baptized. HAHA. I'm so wrong , I make myself believe I'm right sometimes. It will all get better.

How many I'm missing now...1, 2, 3 LOL....girl, moms is the same way...she gets on my LAST nerve with that....but she is sooo giving.....in fact, when MarJean's mom was like "you are just so sweet" my fast tail daughter said, "She gets it from Mon ~that's what they call moms~"  That is just how I was raised.

There are 8 of us and ANYONE who came over ~ghetto~ to eat, Moms would say, "don't try to get full, everybody juss git a lil taste." Never turning away a hungry child.  ~getting homesick~

But you know I have NEVER been BAPTIZED....I am a CONFESSED, not confused CONFESSED sinner and Dedee don't play with GOD!

Nope, like you, I stopped at 18 when I left home for college.  My Mom continued to go off and on for a few years.  She passed in 2001.

It really is good to be able to talk to others who have gone through this.  Growing up, not one of my friends could relate.  My sister and I are 10 months apart and we kinda leaned on each other.

I still don't really get into holidays much.  I also don't attend church. I have kept my teachings and realtionship with Jehovah in tact.

I left home for college at 18 toooo!  No curfew....no morning text....no nightly readings....Dedee THOUGHT she was doing big THANGS till her dumb asse lost her scholarship partying LOL

WHEW....that was 1993...Moms made me pay my own way through school too ~tough love~ "I know I raised you better than that. You lost BOTH your scholarships!? HEATHEN ~she did not call me a heathern---to my face LOL~"

So, I had to get an apartment, a job, and go to school like that....meet Phil and BOOYAH! LOL  He was so impressed with me handling my own like that --- him juss paid my tuition ~giggle~ or did he pay the rent? or both? LOL

But that got my asse back on track!
