I had my gallbladder removed in 2007 (feb) and my surgery was last month. No problems digesting my food thus far!

Another misconception.  Many surgeons do GB removal as part of the WLS.  Most surgeons are concerned if you have had other abdominal surgeries that may have caused excessive scar tissue.  If extensive scar tissues is present, they may or may not proceed with surgery.  I have consulted with several of the top surgeons here as well as Mexico and they have all said the same thing.  Most will work with you/your sister if you provide full disclosure of your medical history including any and all surgeries and medical issues.  Tell your sister not to worry just go for it.  If it's meant to be it WILL happen.
