Something to THINK about
This is for EVERY and ANYONE....you can type on BAF about what you eat, taking your vitamins, drinking water, exercise, WHATEVA, you can lie to the monitor, the keyboad, the CPU....but you cannot lie to YOUR BODY.....YOUR HEALTH.
With that said, I have been one of the fortunate WLSers who can get away with some schitt...however, I too know my surgeon explained he does his RNY totally different ~in a way that you are not totally depleting nutrients~....with that said, I may only take my vitamins 4 or 5 days a week....I may even skip a week....but I am NEVER late on getting my bloodwork pulled---I happily ante up my 7 tubes of blood! (Note, I only have to do this 2 times a year now.)
I was asked, "why did you say 72 hours?" Per my PCP, if I have taken any vitamins in 72 hours, she will not do my blood work. I am not a doctor....not sure about this, but her nurse said that you get a better reading if you have not taken the vitamins in 72 hours. Once, I had low B1 (had never taken it before) and once low vit D (on an additional D vit now).
Ask your doctor about these things....YOUR body is YOURS and YOU are responsible for it and it's health.
Find out how often and how soon you should do bloodwork. Things change...I am over 5 years out. At that time, it was 12 weeks for me to get my bloodwork....and I had to have my bloodwork done every 3 months....after 3 years.....every 4 months.....now I am down to twice a year.
Find YOU a WLS-friendly and knowledgeable PCP! That is a MUST.....now handle your bidness BAF...and have a good day.

Yessss! I was JUST telling someone this last night!
I take my vitamins 5 days a week. I always skip on the weekends. I always do bad on the weekends period. Anyway...my calcium levels still came back low.
So like you said....the bloodwork doesn't lie!
Great post, sis!
(and I read it ALL heffa)
1.) The BACKLINES have backlines. Watch what you say and more importantly WHO YOU SAY IT TO!! 2.) There are NO secrets on BAF. DON'T BE FOOLED!!
3.) The person who says: "I'm going to tell you something, but you can't tell anyone." has already TOLD 50 other people!
No--this isn't from experience--well, not MINE anyway!
You start your water so early! I need to do that....I drink coffee until noon!

My normal morning regimen:
1. 20 oz water
2. coffee
3. 20 oz water
4. Protein Shake
5. 20 oz water
6. mid morning snack
7. chew gum
8. lunch
And find time to tinkle in between...LMAO!
Oh, and I am a coffee drinker but I only drink 1 cup a day. That is all that's needed for me.
Imma try your regimen tomorrow, but no Protein shake....and I must add GREEN TEA....that is my afternoon beverage.....and I rarely eat lunch ~bad Dee~

Thanks for this. My problem is in remembering to take my vitamins. Because of that, I have one set of vitamins at home, one in my office desk. Hey, we do what we must. :-)
