HELP - what does a bowel obstruction feel like??

I woke up this am with a shooting pain in the middle of my stomach and everytime I stand it hurts. I have called my WL surgeons office and explained to the assistant what I was feeling and she is calling my surgeon but he is in surgery in Dallas this am so it might be awhile before I here back. but just incase I want to know the symptoms to see if I should start driving to Dallas now to go to the ER,..

I don't know what it feels like but if you are in pain like that I say go ahead and start driving to the ER right NOW!!

I CANNOT believe you haven't call me you know I had one of those bad brothas three years ago this month... I will TELL you this if it is ANYTHING like mine was you would NOT be on the computer now...

The docs office just called back they are going to arrange a CT scan today to determine if its just an ulcer or if it is an obstruction.

My FIRST symptom was it felt like I needed to burp but couldn't (a huge gas bubble in my tummy)... I would try to burp and use the bathroom but couldn't do either.... My belly literally start increasing in size as the days went by... (I start having pain on Saturday and didn't go to the emergency room until Monday) The emergency room tech told me if I would have waited a little but longer I would have been RIP....
