My Job saga ..part II

Ok family remeber me telling you guys about my job getting outsourced next year .........welll they decided not to wait till next year.  Last monday a bunch of people were let go and my group was outsourced.   So on the 16th myself  and the others in our group will become come contractors working for the company that took over our position.
    Needless to say in these desperate economic times I am grateful that I still have a job.   We only ended up with a 65 cents pay reduction. We lost our yearly bounus. I had earned 4 weeks of vacation with the current employer and now I am back down to 2 weeks. .  I had planned to be off the last week of December on vacation but cant do it now that I'll I wont be with the current company.  Also with the current company we got extra pay for working on sat or sun and we got paid extra for working on holidays now no more of that.

One good thing though I did recieve a severace package but I am was looking at the numbers and notice that they shorted me 2 years of service so I am working on trying to iron that issue out.
We have a meeting today with the new companys district manger to finish the transistion paper work.

So thanks for all the prayers and well wishes  family cause things could have been real ugly right now. CAN WE SAY GOD IS GOOD !!!!

Hey, babe.  Not to sound like a cliche, but u know the saying: when one door closes, another opens. 

I tell you this..if it were me getting laid off/outsourced/etc., I'd be concentrating on writing/publishing/marketing my stories.  Maybe this is your opportunity, Diva, to work at marketing your artwork fulltime.

I think you mis-read my post D.   I still have a job at the same facility but as  a contractor.

No, honey. I didn't misread it.  I know you still have a contractor's position.  I'm happy for you in that respect, hon.  :-)

Oh ok D ........With  my Lupus I need affordable health insurance so that means I gotta keep a day job for a little while longer.

Diva, you are right...things could have been worse.

MAN!!!  It's tough times for REAL......

and the mofos that work for me got the NERVE to get an attitude over the possiblity of not getting a MERIT increase next year!!!  I almost wanna tell em to talk to some of the laid off DHL folk, ATT folk or all these other damn people that have NO job and start getting thankful for the one they got and looks like can KEEP!!!!
