newbie greetings and a question
Hi Rhonda... I just first wanted to say Welcome to BAF and Congrats on the surgery. I will be 2weeks post op tomorrow and it is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. I think you should start off easy with walking, if the gym is a task right now. I typed a letter to the owner of my gym explaining that i was having bypass surgery and that i found the machiines and treadmills to be too hard. I asked her if she could work with me and she did. She froze my account for 3months to allow me to get some weight off by walking. Which meant I didnt have to make the payments. No since in paying a monthly fee for something you are not using, Whatever you choose i wish you the best!!!!
Thanks BAF! Good ideas all. I'll post a picture when i take the time to figure out how to do it. No reason I can't start walking more and incorporating it into my day. I work a desk job but I can get up and walk every few hours and I don't have to pick the parking spot closest to the office entrance. Again, thank you for the welcome.
Rhonda
NO! GET YOUR MIND RIGHT NOW! THIS IS A LONG PROCESS AND YOU NEED TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT. WALKING IS GOOD IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT. TRY WATER AEROBIC TOO. IM 2MONTHS OUT AND I STARTED WORKING OUT A LITTLE TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO SURGERY AND I LOST TEN POUNDS.
SAME DAY OF SURGERY I WAS WALKING. I WALK AROUND MY NEIYHBORHOOD AND THE NEXT WEEK AFTER SURGERY I WAS AT THE GYM WALKING ON THE TREADMILL.
PUSH YOURSELF MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY!
GOOD LUCK
