My Skin Is Sooooo Dry

I know that this is a side effect of the surgery but my skin is just flaky dry. I want to try to wear makeup again but my face is so dry and I don't even know where to start. What do you use for your dry skin? I've been getting compliments lately about how I look so much younger and that makes me feel good, especially since I have a 17 yr old and soon to be 16 yr old. I plan to get my gray covered up as soon as I have the energy to go to the salon to sit in the chair and get my hair lightened. I guess I need a whole makeover. lol What are you using for the dry skin and what foundation will work with this type of skin?

i feel you - i have used cetaphil, neutrogena and now oil of olay facial lotion under my MAC foundation - keeps everything smooth!

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions! I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Alof the foundations come with moisturizers and a variety of things depending on your skin type.

Let the salesperson know your skin issues and they can suggest something good.

I am partial to MAC, but theres a whole lot of lines out there depending on what you want to spend.

I have oily skin so I always get oil free makeup but Im sure they have products for dry skin.

Also it would help to moisturize nightly after you wash your face. That should help with the dryness.

As for your skin...any good lotion will help. I use Keri with Shea butter in the black bottle to keep my skin soft & smooth.

As for the makeover...your beautiful already. A little gloss & some mascara will work just fine.

I use MAC StudioTech Foundation. It's a cream, so it works well with dry skin.

For my dry skin?- I use Cetaphil moisturizer and Curel

as far as makeup I use Maybeline which has a moiturizer in it. My problem is my lips, I use Chapstick, Carmex, and Bath & Body moisturizer and my lips is still rough (happens every winter)..
Glad I aint got a man right now he would be like UHhhh Baby you wanna handle that!

Also, I think it is Mary Kay who makes this lip moisturizer....you put it on at night....wipe it off in the morning and it peels away the dead skin from your lips....kinda of like a lip facial LOL

I'd suggest using vitamin E oil after getting out of the shower, because it really helps seal in moisture. Another thing to keep in mind is that using really ho****er, either on your face or body also dries skin out. Lastly, Smashbox and probably other companies make primers for foundation so you can have a really smooth application. HTH

My doctor told me that too---I mean, I knew already--but she TOLD me again....I can't help it though...it's like an addiction....I shower in almost all HO****er and soak in a HOT tub of water ~bad Dedee~

Go to the drug store and get a bottle of glycerin and add it to a half of bottle of your favoriate lotion or you can use it from the bottle it does amazing things to the body. glycerin is the moisture in lotions and creams but most products don't have enough because they are mostly water even the thick ones. Enjoy because you will notice a difference in a short time.
