I can HONESTLY say I have stayed away from carbonated drinks.  Pre WLS, I drank regular pepsi like it was water.  I didn't think I could EVER get to the point of NOT wanting pepsi...but I conquered that shiot!
Now if I could stop the potato chips and other bad carbs...I'd be really doing something.  LOL

I'll be 3 years post-op tomorrow and I STILL mourn foods, lol.  I'll forever be in rehab over something, lol.  I hardly drink soda...when I do, it's a Cherry Coke Zero and I pretty much shake all of the fizz out of it.

I have not had a carbonated drink in over 2 years.  I was serious about my Pepsi and Mountain Dew before surgery.  I even had a Mountain Dew for breakfast every morning and was never without one of the other.  This was my hardest habit to kick.
Now I could not even imagine having one.  They don't even sound good!
You will be alright

*Channeling Sophia from Color Purple*  Don't do it Ms. Celie - don't trade places with what I been through..... LOL!!!!

I get stuck on diet sodas every now and again - am on a Diet sunkist kick right now - it comes and goes with me, I was craving them like mad but I am starting not to want them so much.  try your best to stick to the sugar free kool aid type stuff - but if you gotta - do like Faith said - lots of ice, lets the bubbles come out and get your SIP on!!!  LOL

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

As far as soda...I dont even think about it, wasnt a big soda drinker anyways, to me it's not worth it. I have been through too much to mess up,  I been doing water and sf kool aid.

Yeah food addiction is something like that. I think it is the same thing actually.

Before my surgery I had to do a liquid diet for a whole month nothing but Protien shakes and fruit and vegetables. I lost over 40lbs just doing that and it was all my doing. I was actually happier about that mountain than any weight I lost for the surgery b/c it was all me. However I remember my "Pookie" night. I wanted a hamburger so bad I was shaking and sweating it was crazy and I remember like it was last night how I was. It was crazy. I still have those issues now but i'm a cheap a$$ when it comes to food and realize I can't eat all of it so I don't buy it. (ain't that crazy)

(((Ms.Nicci))) I have been in your shoes.  The first time around when I tried to have surgery I had to go on a diet too. I hated that. I was 220 and they wanted me to put forth an effort to lose weight. I thought that was ridiculous and I was also scared if I lost too much I would be denied by my insurance company because then I wouldn't be 100 pounds overweight. Anywho I switched surgeons who didn't require me to do that. I know that doesn't help your situation and I am not suggesting you switch surgeons but I just wanted you to know that I know what you are going through.

yeah it is something else...and to be totally honest, my surgeon said stay away from all carbonated beverages, and i have tried a sip here and there, but it bubbles in my stomach and doesn't feel good, so i do not do sodas or any other carbonated beverages.  I have never really been a big soda drinker, with the exception of getting one at fast food restaurants and eating out....so it is no biggie to me....

I wish you much success on your journey!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
