When I was in Junior High and High School I wanted to be called Wendy...don't know why just like that name.  I even went so far as to write that name on all my school work.  The teachers told me to stop and told my mama....so you know what I did I wrote my first name "Wendy" and then my last name!!!

Then when i got a lil older I wanted my name to be Blossom...I would tell everyone my name was Blossom and wouldn't answer to anything else.

I actually like my name "Telaya"  I've never had problems finding a job becuase some people don't know what the origin is.  I speak very proper, so when I used to work on the phone in customer service, people would always try to figure it out.  The would say "your name is so pretty, what does it mean?"  I would always answer, "I don't know" and keep talking.  My mom wanted to name me Ta-Tanisha, but my dad wouldn't let her, LOL.

Have you tried to look up the meaning of her name? Maybe if she knew the meaning that would help her to see the reason that God inspired you to name her that.

My name is Tracy and my father bugged my mom everyday to make sure Tracy Lynn would be my earth name.  Now that he is dead it is so much more special to me and I would not change it for the world.

I think most people at some time in their life, have thought of an alternative name for themselves.  I would choose "Alliyah".   At least in Sarah, she choose a biblical name!!!!  And just maybe Sarah is the name of the Angel assigned to protect her in this life...Take care, it will all work out, it usually does.

As a child I didn't like my name "Chante'" either cause most people couldn't pronounce it and called me 'Chant-E' so I had people call me Shawnie....much easier. If I had my choice I would've wanted to be named "Charlie". For some reason that name was so sophisticated to me...maybe because of the Charlie perfume. So I said when I had a girl I would name her Charlie....

Well I have a three yr old daughter and NO ONE liked the name Charlie for her so I ended up naming her with my other favorite -Nina Symone. That also sounded so sophisticated to me. WHY....I don't know.

I used to really dislike my name because growing up I would always run into the comedians of the world that would ask me "Do you two sisters name Hope and Charity?"  That would make me so mad.  I would tell my Mom when I turned 18 that I was going to change it.  I wasn't sure to what...I think one time I said Barbara.  I have since learned to embrace my name  and it is a more common name now. I would keep my name.
