When I was younger, I wanted my name to be changed to Tommy.  Again, I have no clue why, but I knew I hated my name because I thought it was corny and bland.  Of course this was before I asked my Mother why she named me George.

I was named after my Great Grandfather. My first and middle name is his first and last name.  I was his first Great Grandson and Grandchild, so my Mother felt his name should stay in the family.  He had a Jr, but he has passed.

Now I'm pround to have that name. 

Give it time 'Dre, she will understand and be happy with her name. It's Beauitful.

This is funny, because I don't like Joyce which is my first name..I like Marie which is my middle name..I asked all my coworkers to call me Marie...They did but many times if they called me Marie I would keep going until one of my coworkers said if you want us to call you Marie dayummit at least answer to it..  If I had a girl I would name her Victoria,  I had a boy and I named him Terrance.. I wanted to name him Victor...My husband wanted him to have his name...TYRONE... so I gave my son TYRONE as his middle name.... You know everybody was singing that.... You better call Tyrone for years after that.. Most of my ex-hubby family could not pronounce Terrance because they are tied tongue.. So I ended up calling him Terry after that.   Sad thing my ex named 2 other children the same name as my son.. Exact same name, which is stupid..  My son Terry is the oldest and the stupid m/f named the exact same name to his other sons.. That shyte is craaazy. I went out to lunch on his azz big time.. I'm at social security one day and the lady looked at me astonished, asking which Terrance am I talking about.. I  asked his dub ass why did you do that, he said my girlfriend wanted to name him after Terry, and the 2nd baby mama wanted to name her's after Terry.. Strange shyte rt. there.

BTW I like the name Terrance that is my brother's name.

Jan ...that's funny... anyhow My name is La Tanya which for some reason I hate the "La" part so I go by Tanya. At the age of 36 I wouldnt change my name but if you would have posted this when I was 18 i would have changed it... what took you so long Ktjajj?

Ok I have had this screen name for years. When I was trying to come up with an orignal screen name everything that I wanted was taken. So I came up with this one. Each letter stands for the first initial in my best friends names. K-for Kirsten T-for Toni J-Jodie and A-for Andrea at the time my best friend Jodie had two kids. J-Jaianna and J-Jinah. Hence KTJAJJ.

Didn't know it was going to be so complicated huh?
