EJ is sick-- prayer request

Hi Guys... Asking for a prayer request here. Since surgery EJ has NEVER been able to eat what everyone else at his stage can.... At 6 months out he is lucky if he can drink maybe 30oz water, and eat 1oz or so at a meal.... maybe 2 tiny shrimp.... Just recently things have been going very down hill... he is barely eating, barely drinking. He is dry heaving and gagging several times a day, he would throw up if he had anything in his tummy. He's barely eaten a meal in the last 10 days or so. Saturday we spent all day in the ER, he was passing kidney stones (OUCH!), which are a symptom of dehydration. He was able to get an emergency appointment today--- Im guessing he has had a stricture since early out, but never went to the surgeon about it... but now things are bad. He is malnourished, he looks like death warmed up. Im really stressed out, and feeling so sick.... I just pray they can work this out and finally allow him to be "normal" in the sense of someone who is 6 months post op... Please send prayers that this afternoon they can help him.... he has not had any energy since surgery, he has not being able to rejoice any in his 175lbs loss... he is regretting surgery right now.... Hi Darlene, It's good that you are going there. I had my endoscopy done there the Friday before my surgery. Dr. Fang did it himself. Why are men so hard to get to the dr ?? My son went back to dr. after a year of drinking mallox like it was water!! Finally the gall badder came out. I go to the dr with every little problem..but have to "trick" the hubby into going...now I go in with him too... gotta get-er-done! hugs & prayers, Ginger

Lots of prayers coming your way. It does sound like a stricture. I developed one at 1 month and it took 2 weeks to figure it out and 3 weeks to get it opened enough to get food down, but by that time I was so dehydrated and malnurished it took 3 days in the hospital with a TPN bag to get me back to the land of the living. Make them do a scope & dialation. Make them give him some fluids. It sucks to be there, I know first hand but once he breaks that barrier and gets rehydrated he will feel better. If they do a dialation and he still doesn't feel better after 3 days and nothing is staying down, go back and have another one. Do not let them tell you " He should be feeling better by now", let him be the judge on how he feels. If it is not right, keep going back till he is. Melissa
