hi joyce, can you give me some more info about the spring fling thing?! who is it for? who is putting it on? is it for spouses also? is it dress up? if so, how dressed up? more info please! thanks! (sorry so many questions) brandy

Brandy! It would be sooooo awesome if you and your DH came! Answers: Who is it for? Pre-Ops, Post-Ops, Lap BAnds, Rny's, those just thinking about it, their spouses, their friends, ......EVERYONE! Doesn't matter who your surgeon is, what your program is, what stage in the journey you are at. Spouses? Absolutely! But, a date is not necessary if you don't have a spouse of a significant other. Most actually come by themselves and the DJ is set to do a lot of line dancing so all can do as much dancing as they want! Dress UP? Absolutely! But not necessarily! LOL! We don't want someone to stay home just cuz they don't have a $200.00 new dress! Many are in a size for about 3 seconds before losing more weight so it would be silly to spend money on something worn once. This is the 3rd time we've had this event and we've had folks treat is as a Prom and have had the gorgeous dresses and tuxes and some have come in nice dress pants. Savers and Good Will are good options. Also, post your need and many of us have formal dresses in a variety of sizes ready to lend or give to someone. A gal on the Chandler just posted an available size 16. I have an available Size 12. This event is put on by me and bunches of my WLS friends from the Mesa Support Group, Chandler Support Group and all over the Phoenix area! (Independent of any hospital program) I'd be happy to send you a flyer but I can't put attachment on this site. I think the original post I made a few days ago has all the details though. Let me know if you have any other questions.....We're hoping for a HUGE attendance. Last year we had people attend from Prescott, Tuscon, Las Vegas, all over Phoenix, Sierra Vista and one from Mexico. We have photos taken and the gal who does it sends them to you via mail on a disc for like $1.00. There are door prizes, a potluck (healthy proteins available) dinner. And, this year we're adding a dinner guest speaker. No one would feel awkward because we are all bonded in our WLS community even when we haven't met yet!
