I was curious if they will be putting a catheter in me at the time of surgery? Will I be awake for that if so? Diane W.

As everyone said, you will be asleep when they put it in. When you're in preop they'll help you put on those lovely white surgical stockings. Then, and this was my favorite thing because I have such lousy ankles, they put the booties on. Once you're back in your room they'll hook them up to a compression pump. It's an alternating thing, and it does make your legs and feet feel good.
