Problem at Castles and Coasters

My company had their annual picnic at Castles and Coasters. I went because I thought that I may be able to go on the rides. Well, I tried the racing cars and the log ride, and was not able to ride because I didn't fit into the race car and I couldn't get into the log flume. Luckily, the people at the park consisted of people that worked for my company, and nothing was said and no one laughed. I spent the day just walking around and enjoying the day. I had lunch which consisted of half of a hot dog with no bread and a bite of potatoe salad. Normally, I would have been in tears because I didn't fit into the rides, but I am looking forward to next years picnic. I will be more than a hundred pounds lighter, and at that point I will be able to ride the rides. I wasn't upset, just happy to know that I have lost 83 lbs since 1/13/2005 and am completely off of my diabetic medicine. I have come along way and that is what I am proud of. Randi 360/277/130

I shed those same tears at the Pima County Fair a couple of years ago when they wouldn't let me on the swings cause the seat belt wasn't large enough. I remember trying to get through a good cry and recover myself before the children got off the ride. I just went again this year (147 pounds lighter), and rode the swings a bunch of times. Your time will come soon. Congrats on the tremendous weight loss you've already got under your belt! - Stephanie J

A perfect "before" moment when you know the end result will be fabulous and make it all worth it! It almost makes it exciting. I'm going to a family reunion this summer, and am thinking about wearing a Tshirt that says "before", so I can have a size small next year that says "after"! Bonnie B

Sorry that happened. It's like a reality check. C&C rides are VERY small - don't know how adults can ride them. Next year will be a different story for you for sure!! Glad you have understanding co-workers and I'm sure there were others that had same issues. I had lost about 50 lbs or so when I went to the Elton John concert at Glendale Arena a couple weeks ago and then I sat in the seat and it was TIGHT! I'm like OMG! It was a reality check for me. It's like 50 lbs down, another 150 to go! Ugh!!! Congrats on 83 lbs in 4 months - WOW!!! That's awesome!! You've come a long way! I can't wait until I get under 300 - that'll be so exciting!! At least your weight starts with a "2" now. yay!! Congrats on being off your diabetic meds. YAY!! Your health is just beaming right now!! Thanks for the warning about C&C....I'll make sure I'm down another 100 before trying that. I've never been there. I've been in AZ about 8 years now, but have been MO for 8 years, so I never went there. Wait, I did go there once to play miniature golf with friends. But that was it. Someday, when we are all way down, we'll go there for a AZ meet & greet and ride all the rides with pride!!!!! Hugs, Trisha

Sharrie, I wasn't upset about my experience. I looked at it as just another reminder of why I had this surgery. The important thing is that I was able to walk around without a problem. I will be able to ride the rides next year. Randi

Randi Sorry to hear about the rides but I am glad you didn't beat yourself up about it. I am sure the energy you have to walk around all day was a great feeling. Getting of the Diabetic medication is a great feeling. I don't miss it at all. keep up the good work. You are loosing great. I have only lost 70 and my surgery was in November 2004. I am a slow looser but that is ok we have months still to go. Good job! Cynthia
