Hello everyone, just wanted to post a message to say hi! I moved into the neighborhood in the beginning of March, and am still just getting my house in order. I don't really know anybody out here, we moved from San Diego, CA. I had my surgery Feb 1, 05. Since the surgery I have been doing pretty well, it is hard trying to get used to eating again. I am keeping my doctor in CA since he is GREAT! I have to small kids, 1st and 2nd grade. If anyone knows of anything fun to do out here, please fill me in! Thanks, Laura Christopher

Welcome to the neighborhood! What part of Mesa did you move into? I live in Gilbert so I was just curious if we lived close to each other. I can't think of anything fun off the top of my head, I'm just getting home from a long day at the office. I have a 3rd grader of my own and she enjoys going to the movies, eating and playing at Peter Piper Pizza. We like walking through the swap mart located off the 60 in east Mesa. There are some really neat museums to visit in downtown Mesa. If you don't mind driving take a day trip out to Canyon Lake. They have boats for rent, a nice restaurant and a public day use beach. Plus you can usually spot a couple big horn sheep *keep your eyes open cause there are also mountain lions out there*. When it warms up a bit it's always fun to head over to Sunsplash to spend the day in the water, this time of the year we like to go there to play miniture golf and arcades. Do your children like to rollar skate? I'll try to come up with a few more things but like I said earlier I'm just getting home. Laura - just submitted paperwork to insurance for approval, passed all my requirements, just waiting for a date!!!

Welcome to Arizona Laura =) I'm new here too, we moved here in January. I'm waaaaay out in Buckeye (southwest valley) though, it feels like I'm in the middle of nowhere. We have heard of lots of fun stuff, but so far we haven't been able to experience much of the state yet. The weather has been nice the past few weeks though =) Michele

Hi Guys! I live in Mesa too. I've lived in the Tempe/Mesa area for quite some time now. Something fun to do this weekend is the Tempe Music Festival (we are going tomorrow night) and also the Tempe Arts and Crafts Festival is this weekend too on Mill by ASU. And there are lots and lots of good concerts out here. Just about every big artist rolls through Phoenix. I'm a concert junkie myself so thats important to me U2 is coming in 2 weeks Other than that there are a lot of good parks....Kiwanis in Tempe and Fountain Hills park are great...Fountain hills is a bit of a drive though. Theres lots of casinos, shopping malls, swap meets...etc. The rep is a good place to look also New Times, you can pick that up all over the valley. Oh and the Improv in Tempe is a fun place to go too.. Beth
