Hi everyone! My name is Robin and I'm from Maryland and this is a bit off topic but wanted any input you guys can offer. I will be coming out to Sedona (with my friend Sue who also had bypass surgery) and wanted to know some recommended touristy things to do....we want to go to the Grand Canyon (of course) and maybe go to Slide Rock State Park. Also we were thinking of going on the Pink Jeep tour/horseback riding tour/cowboy cookout. Do you have any restaurants that you would especially recommend? Any info, advice you can offer would be appreciated! We're coming August 13 - 20th. Robin

Hi Robin, My name is Jennifer and I live in Sedona, when you come out here one place to check out is the old mining town of Jerome...It is fabulous...it's located out past cottonwood and up on a mountain side, they call it an artists town lots of little shops and galleries and an old ghost mining town you can pay to go through. My husband and I have only lived here for 2 years now and that was one of the places I really loved. Some good places to eat are the Javelina Cantina its located in the hillside galleries, they have great fich tacos, and also a good place in the village of Oak Creek it's still considered Sedona, Dahl and Diluca Cucina Rustica...I havn't been to this one yet but everybody tells me they are great...If you go through this little town there is an Outlet Mall on your way there and I work at the Bank One across the street.Well I hope you have a wonderful time here the first time you come into town and see the red rocks its absolutly breath taking.....Love Jennifer

You have to visit the national monuments in Cottonwood and at Camp Verde, both are south of Sedona. Montezuma Castle National Monument was built by indians in the 1200's and just outside Cottonwood on the way to Jerome is Tuzigoot National Monument. Also, Cliff Castle Casino is right up from the Montezuma Castle, they even have nickel slot machines. Cindy Smith Open RNY 8-6-03 -155 lbs
