Any Lap Banders here?

Hi, Still having the RNY v.s. Lap Band debate. Any Bandsters here? Anyone know if Dr. Zahn will do a Lap Band? Judy

Judy, I recently decided to get the lap band instead of the DS. I have been planning on the DS for 1 1/2 years and after meeting with Dr. Terry Simpson, I changed my mind. This website has been a wealth of information as well. Go to the Lap Band Forum if you haven't already. I posted your same question on Friday, 7/2/04. The responses were incredible and so much help!! I will tell you that Dr. Zahn does not to lap band, only RNY. Also, if you haven't met with him yet and didn't know this, he does not do anything laproscopically, it is all OPEN. That was a complete turn off to me. I went to his seminar and never went back. There were hundreds of people there. Since, I have met with Dr. Simpson and attended his seminar. There were maybe 20 people there and he is so different than Dr. Zahn. I love him!!!!! So glad I decided to change. Good luck on your quest!!! Heather

Hi Judy! I'm a bandster & I LOVE it!! I would not change it for the world, yes the weight loss it slower than the RNY but complications are much lower, recovery is faster and its reversible should you have any problems. RNY is permanent!! There is a AZbandster board on yahoo that you can ask all kinds of questions on too! I believe Dr. Juarez does lap bands don't know much about Zahn. Juarez does do the lapband he did mine 2.5 years ago and i am down.275 lbs and maintained goal weight. chris
