Cigna Insurance is not covering the LAP BAND as of October 1 on their health plan -- they are not convinced by health studies that it works

That may be because of the high number of lap band patients who come back to them wanting RNY. Dr. Blackstone's orientation made it clear that the only people for whom lap band surgery is advisable is those with 100 pounds or less to lose who have great discipline and who are not hooked on sugars and fats. That sure ain't me!
