The Shrink and I

It's official... Contrary to popular opinion, I am sane. I saw the psychologist that Dr. Blackstone's office referred me to, Lisa Galper. I'm a little nervous because she didn't administer the MMPI as I understand most psychologists do so I'm hoping that Cigna does not turn around and require it. I questioned this and she said that the reason is the MMPI is a generic tool used diagnose a bunch of things and psychologists that are not specialists in weight related issues use it as a safety net. Lisa specializes in weight related issues. She interviewed me for about an hour and a half and all of the questions seemed to be pertinent to weight, body image, support systems, etc. She says the office will bill me and Becky says the cost is 195.00 so we'll see. Like I said, I hope that I don't pay Lisa close to 200.00 and then Cigna turns around and tells me that I have to pay for an MMPI. I don't know if I can get 2 psychologists to say that I'm sane enough for this surgery.
