Time to Vent
The general office staff of Dr. Juarez/Dr. Fang need to be fired! I went to their office yesterday for my 8 week appointment only to find that there where no appointments being taken yesterday. The doctors where out of town. The idiot staff did not even bother to call me to have me reschedule. I was pissed. I don't know what it is with those females in the office. They are the most incompetent bunch I've seen. The doctors are great, but they must of really scrapped the bottom of the barrel to find these gals. I think I'm done with any more check ups. I'll go see my primary care doctor if I have any problems. All the black spots about this journey is with the office staff; losing my file, etc. I am so sick of it. I hope to hell they read the message board!
OMG Diana, Did you go OFF on them?? In case you all haven't noticed, admittedly, I can be a bit of a hot head. In YOUR case, IF for instance, you went to your appt and they were gone due to an emergency, well then, no worries, but if it were just due to THEM being idiots??? OMG!!?? I just don't tolerate IDIOTS well at all. As I say "Stupid people shouldn't BREATHE" (or breed). Sorry, I'm red-headed, IRISH, and I take NO sh*t...blame my Mom, but all kidding aside, I would do anything for anyone, ANYTIME, just treat me right. With these appts tho, you're ALREADY so damn stressed out, running around like a chicken with your head cut off, and then they pull THIS??? OH NO..I'm afraid they wouldn't be liking me much.....That's just RUDE. I would have had their heads on a stick, I'm afraid.
I do not have a lot of confidence in the office as a whole, honestly. Before the surgery one of the office staff called and said I was denied in a very *****y way that made me cry as the person would not answer my questions. My husband called back and raised hell and lo and behold a week later I was approved for the surgery. We believe they messed up the insirance submission the first time and of course that took six months and a six month wait after that for the surgery. After surgery Dr. Juarez told me I only needed one Flintstone vitamin a day, while the nutrisionist said at least four. First week I was in a lot of pain from a possible leakage and from dehydration, a 2 hour wait in the St. Lukes emergency room while other patients who were on welfare were seen for every day non emergency stuff. My husband got mad and they finally saw me. Five large bruises in my arm as they tried to get IV in, funny but the guy taking blood managed to do it in one try without pain. Dr. Juarez would not come to see me and neither would his assistant even though they told my husband over the phone before we left to drive an hour to get there that one of them would be available. So I finally get home that night at midnight and dR. jUAREZ'A ASSISTANT PRESCRIBES HORSE SIZE PILLS for the pain that I could not eat because I was on liquids. Not thinking. My next checkup in Juarez's office was an hour and a half wait past my appointment. A nother Doctor who did not do the surgery saw me and gave me a presrciption that the pharmacy could not fill as it was screwed up on the pill size with millagrams. While the nutr. said at least 78 grams of protein a day, this other doctor told me that not all people needed that much and that half that was ok too! 5 months out ,now all my hair is falling out, I still throw up a lot, what works one day does not work the next. The only place I really get any kind of info post op is from this site on the main message board and library which i found by accident after the surgery. No one in Juarez,s office told me about it. I too don't go back there as no one seems to know anything and what good does it do. My main Phsician is a lot more helpfull, for instance gives me b12 shots every six weeks. No one from Jaurez's office said to take calcium citrate instead of any other kind. It is like a factory belt, put them in for surgery and get them out. I still have some bruising around the surgery sucture lines. I still have very little energy and feel drained most days. I will not go back and be treated like crap by that office again, they are rude. Don't they know how raw and deep this whole thing is for the patients?
I too feel your pain.. I have read a lot on this site that his office is notorious for loosing records, that's why I personally walked all my records into him when I had my consultation. I do give his office staff the benefit of the doubt because I'm sure they are way over worked and under staffed. On the other hand I will follow up with them, call a head of my appointment time to make sure that the dr. is running on time. Why, because Dr. Juarez is an awesome Dr. and I'm willing to follow up with his nurses and staff to ensure that when I get there I will be seen in a timely matter.
When I went in to see Dr. Juarez for my two week follow up, I had been in the room with him for two min already and I didn't have any complaints or questions since the surgery, when his nurse came in to interrupt us. She had informed him that he had a call waiting from another dr. He said, OK and right then expected our visit to be over and the nurse expected him to get up and take the call. However, he just sat there and when the nurse didn't leave, he said I'll be there in a minuet. I was very surprised by this especially since we weren't talking about anything surgery related. We continued to finish our conversation and he asked if I had another questions. I was stunned that he didn't get up and take this call especially since it was from another Dr. But it was at that moment when I decided that I would put up with his office staff and continue to see him. Because in my opinion he really is the best Dr. in town even though some of his office staff sucks. Best of luck,
I've not had any problems - have found everyone in the office, especially Angie, very friendly, quick to respond and actually pro-active in providing me information before I thought to ask for it. I know a lot of people on here have a lot of negative things to say but I approached my encounters expecting only good and surprise, surprise! I was rewarded. In fact, their office got me approved before I even got them the records they needed - I say kudos to his office staff!
To the person who changed to Dr. Blackstone, you should check her record for malpractice before you get so excited about her. The Governor's office has a new website that will allow you to easily check such things. A woman at my office was 4 weeks post-op before Dr. Blackstone (or her staff) let her know she had any nutritional requirements - kind of scary. If Dr. Juarez' staff isn't top notch, at least I know that his surgery skills are.
