United HealthCare Appeal

Sent off my appeal letter to UHC this weekend. I still have hopes that they will approve the WISH Center. If not, I hope they will give me some insight into who they are willing to approve.

I just thought that I would let you know I have United Health Care and had no trouble getting approved with Dr. Zahn. As a matter of fact it took less then a week. I wish you the best of luck! Tina

Hi Debra, I have uhc and was approved almost immediately for Dr. Juarez. I work for Amex and many, many people at my company have switched to UHC and been approved immediately (for epo and ppo). Both men are good surgeons (though Juarez is the only one of the two who will do lap). If you check their records through the state, they have no record of any type malpractice or accidents. I don't know why they are against WISH but I think they provide top-notch coverage (at a sort of top-notch price, hehe) but you should be approved quickly. Also, I just found out that my entire operation with Dr. Juarez will only cost me $875 - they said that is my deductible and max out of pocket - they will pay for everything else and not to worry. I did have to spend $200 for my psych eval, but my friend chose an in-plan psychiatrist and Dr. Juarez accepted that person's approval (for only a $15 co-pay) Good luck - you'll be clocking a surgery date soon, I know it!
