I had Brachioplasty one year ago this week and am still experiencing swelling and numbness to the point that my hand goes to sleep. Anyone else experiencing this and should I call the surgeon about it? Could it just be that the nerve was damaged during surgery? If it's bothering you then you definitely should go to a doc of some type....maybe even start with your pcp and go from there. If you have had some nerve damage then perhaps a specialist (is that neurology?) would give you some better direction.
Sorry you've had problems sweetie pie! ....Swelling in this heat could definitely contribute to discomfort.
Hugggzzz to you!
How's your new job? Different department, right?

thanks Joyce...I will talk to my PCP first.
I am working in the Supply arena/Special Storage. Joe and I are in the same building now. At least I am busy most of the day which makes for a faster day than before. Down side is I don't get to read the "boards" here so much anymore.
Saw the Transformer movie over the weekend finally and you can definitely see the area where they filmed some scenes here where I work. I think Pima Air Museum was in the scenes prior to those also.

Hey Becky! I am no help since I just had mine 2 weeks ago, but I can't imagine that amount of numbness would still be typical. I hope you ask your Dr. and get it resolved! Thanks again for all your support in the arm decision! Kara Got your message....running out the door to the Tempe St Luke's support group! I'll catch up with you soon cuz I want to chat!!

Hi Kara. I hope you are doing well. Write me a line and let me know how it goes.I called Dr. G's office with no response. I guess I will try again beginning of next week. I have given them over 24 hours to respond. Kind of frustrating.

Becky, I am 15 months post RNY. Almost immediately I had numbness in my left leg, from just above the knee to top to leg in the groin area. The surgeon, Dr Jarez, told me that it is damage to a nerve and will eventually will resolve it's self. It has been much better the last 2 months and I seldom have numbness in that area now. It is probably similar with your Brachioplasty. Good luck!
