My WOW moment came on Saturday October 10th! After fighting and argueing for a year with my insurance company and jumping threw countless hoops... I recieved a letter from them saying that my appeal (I had finally filed an appeal after being turned down) was APPROVED!!!! I have a feeling this is the first of my WOW moments... but sooo far in my weightloss journey... this is my biggest and greatest WOW!!

My WOW moment came just a month ago --  I had LAP RNY almost 9 years ago and lost over 185 pounds.   I had started to do so much back then and was volunteering and starting programs for my surgeon in NJ.... I even wrote a cookbook.... and had so many plans and dreams.... I went through a divorce from my childhood sweetheart and was ready to move forward as my own independent person.

I instead ended up in another relationship moved my life and children literally across the country and gave up everything for promises of a love and happines -... blah blah blah.  I lost myself again to another very controlling and ultimately dishonest person who took over my life and didnt allow me to pursue my interests although it was in a seemingly kind way... .... that ended in the summer very badly and my children and I and even my family were very hurt ... I picked up my life with nothing and am moving forward..... having to find a job, home and life all while dealing with a public smear campaign against me.  I had no financial help at all or resources and am working as hard and fast as I can to re-build my life .....

Even though my surgeon is in NJ and I live in AZ, he called and asked me to do an interview for him for 3 national magazines.... The focus was on him and after he read the first draft he changed it to focus more on me and what I have done and accomplished and overcome....The article comes out in December. .

I found a job and my current position in Tempe AZ, is allowing me to go back to doing what I love best -- helping patients one-on-one.... And I finally have my cookbook files back and am re-writing it and will have it published in January I hope....  along with some stories and insight into living long term with WLS and finding happiness within yourself.

So my WOW moment came a month ago when realizing how much my WLS has given me to me to be strong and independent and face every challenge and difficulty despite any lingering insecurities....

AH Joycie Girl....  you are so sweet -- Thanks.... Hey I was a member of OH back in 1999!!!! Ive hidden that profile since I am in a new phase of my life.... I appreciate the words of support - it means so much to me.....

Did you know that I was the one who Tammy and her mom JC, (thoughts and prayers always) had asked for recipes for the first issue of OH Magazine?  If you find the very first issue you will see 3 of my recipes and pictures of them.  It was an honor to be asked and included in the launch issue....

I keep that copy and use it for inspiration now.... I loved being on OH back in those early early days.... All the seminars, and meetings and OH events.... Gosh I used to speak at many of them.... Thats where I first met you   I would so love to get back into the motivational speaking again... I miss that and meeting everyone and sharing their successes.... All in good time I suppose....

Love and hugs always

Hi OH,
My wow moment was just this last week.  I got a call from Dr. Fang's office saying that my medical Dr. gooffed on paper work. So I called my Dr. asked Them to correct the errors.  I truly thought this was going to set me back by months. Well Tuesday I got a call. Cigna approved me in just 3 days.  My surgery is the 23 rd .  So now that is a WOW to me.
