 Hello!
I had bypass surgery almost a year ago and my doctor gave me a medical ID card to carry in my wallet. Recently I have read on a couple other bypass websites that one should wear a  medical id bracelet and/or necklace. Is this something I should look into buying?? How imporant is it to wear it on ones self?

I had one when I first had my surgery.  I don't wear it anymore.  The reason you might want to have the bracelet or necklace is to let EMS personnel know that you've had the surgery so they're not as agressive when putting a tube down your throat.  It would also let any emergency room doctor know your history.

There are some really beautiful bracelets and neclaces out there that hold the medical ID.  I wouldn't mind wearing one of these now.  The one I had before is way to big and can't be resized.

Ann,

I have found a website through
bariatriceating.com which sells really pretty medical ID bracelets. They have many to pick from too. The website is laurenshope.com.

Thank you for your response,
Jodi

At the Phoenix OH seminar last year, they gave away a Lauren's Hope bracelet.  It was really pretty and I would wear that one all the time.  I just didn't order one then but probably should one of these days.
