Archery???
Well now that I am feeling better I am thinking about getting back into Archery. I have like a $3000 setup just sitting waiting for me to use again. This was something I really enjoyed but with the weight and depression I gave up. One thing I have also loved about the sport is that it is a very metal game. If you pratice and put your mind to it you can be as good as you want to be. Lessons for life which during the bad days I forgot. Well the time has come to start learning again.
Is anyone else here into Archery or want to learn? If so let me know.

I find it to be a lot of fun. Summertime it is hard to do because of the heat but with my weight lose I am thinking maybe the heat will not be as bad. In the meantime I just want to get outside and do something I enjoy. My wife likes to shoot also but with our 4 year old she has a hard time going. I am sure she will come a few times.
I tell you this... It is amazing how much I lost and or gave up because of a weight problem. And now I just want to start reclaiming some of it back.

I haven't bloodied any arrows yet. Bows buried deep in the closet. I wasn't very good but could knock the boys off a swing set with a blunt out to maybe forty feet or so. Then the neighbor lady caught me at 2am in my ghilie suit stalking her cat in MY DRIVEWAY!
Add another restraining order to the pile.
That's when my wife put her foot down and tossed out my arrows.

Hi Ray....
Wow you sound terrific....I am happy for you. How much weight have you lost and How much more weight to reach goal??
Years ago in a land far far away I used to go to an Archery Range and had loads of fun. It was the kind of range where you would walk around and hit different targets. Some even moved. It took about 2 hours to complete. There were also hills to climb and of course walking to do.. The setting was in a treed forest just outside of Old Shasta in the corner of the Trinity Wilderness in Northern California...
Good Times and Good Exercise. I had forgotten about archery. Now I remember how hurt my forearms got when I first learned... LOL...
Did go to the Rifle Range 2 Saturdays ago. And have heard birdies in my ears when I yawn. Fun but not enough exercise....
So where is the Archery Range in Arizona???? Is it just Targets like the Avery Range ?
Whichever ya get back into it......And keep us posted.....

I didn't realize Ben Avery had Bow and Arrow facilities out there... I was just there 2 Saturdays ago with Husband, Son and Daughter in Law Shooting guns....
The Archery Place in Northern California was not a hunting range it had targets that moved and a trail to hike... I guess that might be what they call a hunting range "huh".....Well anyway it was fun...
Maybe I'll run into you at Ben Avery... Someday....
Keep up the good work with your weight...

I was into archery many years ago but with my shoulders, there's no way I can do that anymore. Ray, if there's a range nearby just go and you can strike up a conversation with someone there and I bet you'll find someone to shoot with very quickly. Keep up the good work and getting more exercise. See you next Saturday.
