Hello all!  I am new to this, but I have question.  In everything I've been reading about the Bands (either one), it says a good candidate is 40BMI or 35 with a co-morbidity.  I am at about a 36.5 BMI but none of the listed co-morbidities such as diabetes or sleep apnea.  Has anyone, (or does anyone know) had the surgery under 40BMI but with no major issues?

Any imput is appreciated!

Thanks!

Aimee-

The guidelines are set, usually for Insurance reasons.  If you are planning for your insurance company to cover, then they will want you to meet Medical Criteria and all information documented.  Surgeons will usually accept patients who fall within this guideline, but it is the Health Plan that  you will have to work with.  If you are a "self pay", then the guidelines are usually not as stringent.
Best Wishes....
