????? about obstructions

1st off I am going to call a doc & make an apt to get in right away, meanwhile I am still wondering. I am one year post opp & have never felt this sensation. It feels like something is stuck. I have alot of pain in my  middle chest area. I thought if I had something stuck it would go away after a few days, however this has been going on for a few weeks & is getting worse. Every time I think it is gone & I go to eat it comes right back & worse. I have tried pineapple/papaya chewable digestive enzymes but no help there, any thoughts from anyone???

When I had problems like this it turned out to be strictures.  From what I understand from the docs, strictures are scar tissue that forms in the esphegeal (sp?) opening.  It does seem strange however, if that' what it is, that it would form so long after you had your procedure.  IF it is strictures, they do an EGD (endoscopy type procedure) and stretch it out.
