I can not belive this!

I got on the scales at home this week.  I seldom do this as I like the surprise when I go to the PCP's office once each month.        I am down 60 pounds!  5 this week alone.  I have lost over half of my weight in exactly 3.5 months. I never expected to loose this much so quickly.  I am very grateful for the tool I have been given and I posted this to encourage those who have just had their surgery done. It proves that things can be very tough in the early days after surgery but just hang in there  and before you know it you will remember exactly why you had this done. It was not so long ago that I was wondering why in the H@#$ I did this.  Now I know ;-)

Remember Dawn B. She's having a tough time.

I went 3 weeks with no loss....a loooong 3 weeks. I upped my water and started eating more and increased my protein which I had not been good about and  low and behold.... lost about 10 pounds in a little over 1 week. Now I make sure to get it all in every day. I am sure I will stall again but now I know to be patient.

To get even more protein I bought myself a Cusinart Ice-20 and and I am making batches of frozen protein.  The first 2 batches I had only the Unjury protein and I still did not like them. Now I have switched to Max Protein and it has no protein taste or smell.....Dawn bought some too, and loves it as much as I do. We got it at the GNC on Union Hills near 83rd ave. They will give you samples. I only bought the chocolate to make sure I really liked it. I am going back to get the vanilla and strawberry...going to ask to have a sample of the vanilla first tho as it seems to be the flavor that always tastes and smells the strongest. Get a card while there and get 15% off everything. I got my 42 gm New Whey protein bullets for $2.08!

I made frozen  chocolate protein tonight with 1 cup of Lactaid, 2 scoops of Max chocolate protein, 2 squirts of SF Torani chocolate syrup and a tiny bit of vanilla flavoring. I swear it tastes like the chocolate Dairy Queen soft serve. I can eat this 2 x daily with no problemo!

I am sorry...I meant to thank you both!  The first 2 months were soooooo bad that I am amazed at how good I feel these days. The fibro pain is back due to the monsoons and I  went the first 2 months with virtually  no  pain other than surgical pain. But this fibro pain is less than before and I still just feel so good, so happy, so alive again and hopefully as the weight goes down I will feel even better. You know....you two are not so far behind me...happy days ahead for all of us!

Gena,

Congratulations on the wonderful weight loss. Feels great, huh.

Have you tried Lyrica for the Fibro pain? I don't have FM, but my pain specialist put me on it for nerve damage pain and ruptured disks.  It was the most effective med I've tried and I felt human for a change.  Unfortunately, my kidneys weren't so happy with it (I have kidney disease) and I had to go off of it because of excessive swelling. My hands were so swollen every morning that I couldn't bend my fingers.  BUT I DIDN"T HURT!

Congrats again!

Hey Joyce,

Going mach 5 with my hair on fire, but I'm trying to join the world of social again.  I never did hear back from the OH folks last year on any of the work I did so skipped the event.  I might just take you up on your offer this year.  I'm headde for Baltimore this week so will give you a call when I get back.

Their event coordinator last year was very very nice but the gals running the events this year are on top of things!  .....  You put in oodles of time in our behalf so the least we can do is give you a fun day with the WLS buds!!!  .........Enjoy your Baltimore trip (sounds fun)!  I'll look forward to chatting with you soon

Thank you Connie!  I have tried Lyrica for the nerve damage in neck, shoulders and arms. It works quite well but it made my vision so blurry I could not read and that was at only 50 mg.....Hopefully my pain will leave when the monsoons do ;-)
