underwear and belly rings

does anyone know if dr. blackstone allows you to were underwear and keep your belly rings in during surgery.

I am pretty sure its no for both especially the belly ring.  They have in my pre op pack absolutely no jewelry  anywhere.  The underwear part maybe after surgery but keep in mind we have a catheter until the next morning and then after that its likely to be okay.  Lyns

UNFORTUNATLY NO JEWELRY AND PULLING UP UNDERWEAR AFTER SURGERY MAY BE DIFFICULT FOR A FEW DAYS. GOOD LUCK!!

I have heard that a great deal.  Even if you want to wear underwear, its likely you can't.  Physically can't. 

All my jewlery had to be removed including my tongue ring and my underwear. I asked the nurse.

Metal is a carrier for staph infection, especially MRSA in hospitals.  You don't want that. Underwear, nope... because you will have a catheter.  Once the catheter came out, I put on undies and pajama bottoms so I was more comfortable. ~Nicole
