Hi y'all! I've already posted a comment or two, but I thought I might be somewhat proper and introduce myself. My name is Rachel & I pretty much hang out on the VSG boards researching my impending surgery. I'm currently an RN and am in school for my masters/NP. I'm not a bariatric specialist, my specialty is forensic psychiatry. I do have many years of experience in general practice, and recent training due to school, so I'll probably pop up here & there and offer a bunch of unwanted medical information!! I'm also a great source of support as I have been fighting weight since I was wee girl, if one could ever say I was wee... So I must say I am looking forward to my new journey using my new tool & all the sage wisdom dripping forth from the lips of those already in the midst of their journeys! Thank you!!

Welcome!  I'm from Tucson too.  My room mate in the hospital had vsg,  We have the same Dr. Maybe I can get her to post on this board sometime.  She is kinda shy.  I will look forwrd to maybe seeing you at some of the Tucson support groups.

Thank you Reggie!  I joined the TUCWLS mailing list, are they the support group you were talking about?  I am SO looking forward to this surgery!

Welcome!  Its always nice to see some more people on the Arizona board!  There are several Tucson folks here too that can be of great help if you have questions regarding your doctor.  We are all here to support you and be excited along with you. Welcome to the journey! Lyns

Hi  I am Reggies roomate . I had vsg because of complications in surgery. Saw my Dr today and he told me that at a future point I will more then likely have to have further surgery. I told him I am going to do everything within my power to not have another surgery and make this one work. I believe everything happens for a reason and I wasnt meant to have rny. So far I am doing great. I feel like a new person already. No more back aches from standing and I can walk without having to stop every few feet. I like you searched the vsg boards and it was very helpful to me.   Pam
