Northwest hospital in Tucson and VSG...

I have some questions for those of you who had a VSG in Tucson at NW hospital. 1. Did insurance cover you and what kind of hoops did you have to jump through? 2. If you self-paid how much did it cost in total? 3. Will insurance cover the non surgical parts like hospital stay etc. I have HealthNet, Health Choice and Medicare part A &B. I have several co-morbidities and my heart doctor backs me on this. I just have to go see my PCP and see what he says.

You have to discuss most of what you want to know with Chaisson or Burpee and your insurance company. These docs do have a self pay price that covers the surgeon, anesthesiologist and hospital, but you have to pay it all up front.  The cost is around $18,000.
