Hey there! Weight Loss Surgery is a blessing to thousands who are not always able to make perfect choices.  Your brain is not operated on at all during any of the types of surgeries and going straight to pure healthy stuff is great in theory but mighty tough when you are on clear liquids for several days! While sugar free jello may not be the equivalent to an organic salad, it is far from being equal to a Snicker's bar either!  NOONE has to eliminate the joy of good flavor when they sign up for this lifestyle change; they just have to commit to learn how to make good healthy choices and to keep nutrition upper most on the new post--op food pyramid! Most surgical programs give guidelines for clear and full liquid phases that promote healing of the surgical area.  Anything heavy would put stress on the new pouch.  The lists usually have options that intelligent adults can select from if they are craving a bag of chips but can get by with some salty broth instead!  Protein drinks are usually high on the list of "to do's" so that nutrition guideliens can be met initially.  Things like s/f popscicles, s/f jello, crystal light, etc. may calm the beastly head monster! Good for you for vowing to be perfect in every way!  You are going to be a great LOSER!!!  Commitment is a giant step towards reaaching an achievable goal! Congrats!
