Shea Bill Question

I was just wondering what the hospital charges were.  I'm on of Dr. Blackstone's patients and I'm having laproscopic RNY.   Thanks.

My hospital bill copy came at about $43k  - But  I had an extra day in ICU,  So much of it depnds on your ins coverage, I figured total out of pocket for the whole thing was about $2000 - I paid the $1,000  program fee -Dr Blackstone no longer charges

Thanks so much.  That gives me something to go by.  I have a stop loss clause so I think that will be helpful as well.  Funny, the closer I get to surgery, the more questions I seem to be coming up with !

I jot got my bill this past week, my hospital stay was $24,000 and some change, and my part to pay was $1113.60.  Not too bad considering thats the amount of money I would spent on fast food every 6 months or so.  This surgery has been worth every penny I've had to spend.:-)  Alli

Mine came to a little over $28,000 but I also had to stay another night, with fear of pneumonia because my white blood cell count was up. I had to about $350 in co-pays.  worth every penny!

Mine was 27000 for lap-band, husbands was 17,000, the only difference was the time I had to spend in recovery, just a few hours longer.

Out of pocked for each was about 1200, and we felt it was a bargin.  How do you put a price on what it does for your quality of life?

My total hospital bill was 25K I paid about $600, my surgeon and anthesia was covered 100 % Are you a cash paying pt or do you have coverage? Erin

I do have coverage, but was trying to get an idea of where the co-pays came.  The closer the surgery gets, the more questions I seem to come up with.  Can't wait for the big day!

figure your psych eval is around 350. +  a couple office visits, your hospital copay - mine was 200,  after hospital scrips  = at least one  ,  plus the cardilogist clearance - if you need one ?? thank goodness for insurance!!
