Cross posted so all may get the info.....ALL are invited to this FREE, peer faciliated support group! *************************************** "Your anatomy has been surgically altered, but has the psychology of what, when, and why you eat undergone a concomitant transformation?" That question and other realities will be discussed Tuesday, May 22nd, at the Chandler WLS Support Group bimonthly meeting at the Chandler Regional Medical Center. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. By far, dealing with the psychology of eating is the greater struggle for many of us and there are no easy solutions. The concept of eating has a strong psychological component that must be acknowledged and addressed for life-long good health. Interested? Come listen to our guest speaker, Marsha Stieber, a registered dietitian for more than 20 years, most of which was spent in the acute care arena in both staff and management positions. She currently directs and coordinates the dietetic internship program and student services at the Arizona Department of Health Services in Phoenix. The Psychology and Physiology of Eating is Marsha's theme for her presentation. She would like for us to be interactive rather than just listening to her presentation. We all have a lot to say and share so this gathering should be a thought-provoking experience that just might give us that jump start to move on to the next level of our WLS journey. I have known Marsha for about 10 years and worked with her on programs dealing with chronic disease prevention and nutrition services. As a health professional, she is well credentialed and experienced in addressing the act of eating. Please join us for an evening of learning and sharing information about the deep commitment we made to address and change the psychology of what brought us to the table, be it the dinner table or the surgical table.
