Self pay - complications covered?

Does anyone know - if you go self-pay, because insurance excludes your surgery, and then you have complications, are they covered by insurance>

Maxine, I'm not sure, but I do know that someone else who is a state employee with UHC had some complications after self-pay reconstructive surgery and had to be hospitalized twice. Insurance covered all costs associated with the complications. Connie
